STEM Adventure: Time Travel

An immersive experience in new technologies and programming languages from a fun and 100% practical perspective.

This year, two editions will take place in A Coruña: from June 22 to 26 and from June 29 to July 3. It is an ideal option to continue learning in a different way during the summer months.

Learn, laugh, create, and make new friends as you travel thru different eras of history to help each character!

New mission!

We are looking for girls and boys aged 6 to 12 with an interest in technology and a desire to explore everything it has to offer. The challenge? Embark on an exciting journey thru history, helping characters from each era using new technologies.

Check if your application is valid

This list of applications meets the minimum requirements to apply for a spot. Each pre-registration has an application number, which will be used in the draw on May 27 for the allocation of places. All individuals registered under the same legal guardian share a single number. You can check yours by searching for the anonymized ID of the guardian and the first name of the minor. You must check if the schedule and the options for the cafeteria/early risers are correct. If any errors: catedra@wib.aldaba.es

What will you learn during the mission?

Robotics

You will create robots that will become legendary allies on our journey thru time.

We will explore robotics with tools adapted to each level: from the youngest, who will build systems with LEGO and program with blocks in Micro:Bit or Edison, to the older ones, who will use Python and start with more advanced languages thru boards like Arduino and programmable robots.

Drones

Turn drones into key tools for observing, mapping, and solving challenges throughout our journey thru time.

The students will work with programmable drones in workshops tailored to each level. They will learn concepts of flight mechanics, aerodynamics, electronics, and safety, in addition to performing calibrations, programming routes using code, and practicing real piloting, turning each mission into a complete technological experience.

Design and 3D Printing

Piece by piece, they imagine and create solutions that will allow them to overcome challenges from Prehistory to the Future.

In 3D design, the younger students will use Tinkercad and the older ones will work with SketchUp and BlocksCAD to create increasingly complex models. Afterward, they will bring their designs to the real world using 3D printers and 3D pens, discovering how to transform their ideas into tangible objects.

Programming, AI, and Cybersecurity

We use the power of code to solve challenges in every era and move toward the future.

Programming will be the common thread of all our workshops, using tools like CoSpaces, Makey Makey, and Scratch. Additionally, we will work on cybersecurity so that students learn to use the Internet and social media with responsibility, privacy, and security, also incorporating the use of AI in a practical, creative, and responsible manner.

What skills will you be working on?

The activities are designed to have a great time and, in addition, they follow an active methodology that aims to develop the key competencies of each participant.

When?

The camp is held in two shifts. The first will be from June 22 to 26, 2026 (except for the 24th, which is a holiday) and the second from June 29 to July 3, 2026. A minimum of 30 participants is required for each session to be held.

Where?

At the Faculty of Computer Science of the University of A Coruña.

Schedule

From Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. We also offer the following optional services: 8:30 AM to 9:00 AM – Early Bird Program (€2/day, minimum 10 students) and 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM – Lunch (€10/day, minimum 10 students).

Admission

The allocation of places for each shift will be carried out as follows: the number drawn in the ONCE Daily Coupon lottery on Wednesday, May 27, will be used.

We will divide that number by the number of registrations. To the remainder of that division, we will add 1. The result of this operation will be a number within the range of the list of request numbers.

The application number that matches that result will be the first person admitted, and the others will be assigned consecutively, maintaining the criterion that 80% of the spots will be reserved for girls.

An email will be sent to the initially admitted individuals to complete their registration, indicating the procedure and deadlines. Students on the waiting list will also be informed.
